Special project canceled… Special delivery!

After working on the so-called special project now for a few days, I’ve come to realize that this just isn’t going to work as I would like it to. Thus, the plug is getting pulled, so I can spend time on other things. Not a big deal, as I will find other things to fill the gap, so-to-speak.

As for today, I managed to pull out another (and last) of my old Apple monitors. This one is a ‘monitor ///’, which obviously was for an Apple /// computer. Darn thing is, I don’t ever remember having an Apple ///, so I really don’t know where I got the monitor from. Nice to have though, as the one //e green monitor is acting up, and I won’t bring it to any show. The darn v-hold won’t hold, even after having played around with it today. It goes back on the shelf as a spare (or for spare parts). That still leave a better //e monitor, a /// monitor, and the color //e monitor, all of which will work fine for me. The color monitor will be on the Apple //e that will be running games. The /// green-screen monitor will hopefully be put on a ZX81, if I can video MOD it properly. As for the other //e green monitor, it will probably be put to ‘special’ use, in place of the project I’ve put to rest. I will probably run some fun and silly demo things on it, up at the entrance to the UC area.

One other thing I got in the mail yesterday, but didn’t get a change to take a good picture of it till today, was a nice little present from an Odyssey2 friend of mine. Rick, who I met at the ’07 show (if I remember correctly), was nice enough to send me an Odyssey2 pin from the 1982 World’s Fair – where the Odyssey2 was the official game system of the fair (mainly because it was close to the Odyssey2 HQ). Either way, it was nice that Rick shared one of the pins that he got off of eBay, and I thank him for this small but wonderful gift. Anything Odyssey2 related is great in my book!

Thanks Rick! :D
