It has been kind of silent lately. But trust me, I’m still getting ready for the show. I’ve been getting ready to go through all of my iMacs, and probably upgrade some of them, with memory and hopefully better and bigger hard drives. In also need to clean the ones I bought this year. And I ordered some more network cabling and a spare switch today. This will come in handy, as I plan to have at least 8 computers in the Quake LAN this year, with an extra machine controlling it (so I don’t bump into issues like last year with the controlling machine being used to play too). Hope to have more posted in the coming weeks.
Things I need to do soon:
- Test all my TV sets (yeah, they can die just sitting on a shelf)
- Start testing the old iMacs
- Setup my cloning hardware so that I can copy the OS and Quake from one computer to a newly bought one (new hardware I got will make that much easier).
- Pick out a few more system to bring to the show.
- Test network equipment with Quake.
- Test the voice module I got for the TI-99/4A, and some more games I got for it to!
That is all for now. Be seeing you!
